Experienced technical writer to document the components of the Abaqus product suite, the leading finite element analysis software package for advanced engineering calculations. Ideal candidates will have a strong technical background coupled with excellent writing skills. As a Technical Writer you will be responsible for producing online and printed documentation, context-sensitive help, and tutorials. You will be writing the documentation in XML and will be expected to use Abaqus, to read product specifications written by the developers, to interview the developers as necessary, and to provide usability feedback to the developers. Other responsibilities will include testing, filing, and resolving bugs; documentation QA activities; and assisting with the production of the release documentation.

The Publications Proofreader will mark manuscripts and electronic text noting errors in grammar, word choice, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and style on first round. The Proofreader will also read documents on subsequent rounds to ensure that edits by the Publications Manager and others are accurately recorded. In this position, the Proofreader will be responsible for reviewing client creative work for accuracy, consistency and clarity. Additional duties could include reviewing agency documents such as RFP’s, compiling and storing client brand standards, and assisting other offices with proofreading. This position requires a deep understanding of and extensive familiarity with the conventions of grammar, usage, and style in American English. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for and attention to detail, in both verbal and visual matters. Professional proofreading experience is required and professional editing experience is strongly preferred. Acquaintance with principles of visual design is also beneficial and preferred.
